Revitalizing Berea — Together
From public art to streetscape improvements, we’re enhancing the look and feel of Berea’s core districts. By respecting our heritage while planning for the future, we’ll create inviting spaces that locals and visitors can enjoy.
You'd be a great fit if you are:
- An artist or creator,
- A landscaper or gardener,
- A community space designer,
- Interested in creating spaces where everyone can enjoy Berea!
Initial tasks of the Design Committee will be:
- Build Relationships — Engage and establish a working relationship with property owners, local leaders in charge of the district’s built environment, and your state historic preservation office and/or local historic preservation commission.
- Survey Your District — Create a baseline physical environment survey or your district, documenting existing conditions and needs for building maintenance and repair, accessibility features, streetscapes, public spaces, and infrastructure.
- Assemble Tools — Compile a library of design-focused tools, resources, and best practices that you can easily share with district stakeholders, positioning your Main Street program as the hub and connector for design-related inquiries.
